About us
WHO ARE WE?
We are a family run bakery based in Larne. Our founder, Norman Richmond, began training as a baker at Bell's Bakery in Magherafelt when he was just 14 years old in the 1950s. Later, he moved to Larne and began working at the site of our current Craigyhill location, which was formerly known as The Country Kitchen Bakery. Soon after he became a partner in the business before fully buying it over in 1996. During this time, his son Alan had trained as a baker and took over the business from Norman in 1999. Today, BAKE is run by Alan and his daughter Rosie with their dedicated team of bakers and shop staff.
We've had many locations and a variety of products over the years, but since 2010, we've been based in two locations in Larne: our bakehouse and shop in Craigyhill and our second shop just off Larne Main Street on Broadway.
We’re so excited to share that in June 2024, we welcomed our third bakery into the family—McDowell’s Bakery in Larne at Riverdale! This means even more delicious treats for you to enjoy.

WHAT WE DO
We specialise in quality bread, pastry, and cake, and we're proud to be a traditional bakery. Recently, we've started focusing on creating bespoke custom cakes for all celebrations and weddings. We're always happy to help make your day even more special with our delicious treats.

The short answer is kind of! We deliver to the majority of our wholesale retailers but do not offer delivery for small orders or cakes. However, do contact us on info@bakelarne.com as we do frequently get requests from customers abroad to deliver little treats to family or friends that are local to our bakeries.
